Ambra Bellydance is a sports association recognized from AICS and CONI (official   institution wich rules the sport in Italy).

It was born in 2012 on the initiative of Kitija Purmale, its main target is  promotion, teaching and growth of  bellydance.

The word “AMBRA” in this case is the name of the stone which you can find in Baltic countries and it  recalls the origins of  Kitija, professional dancer and teacher of bellydance.

So, ASD Ambra Bellydance is a project started from the same teacher who decided to  promote bellydance, in her country and in Italy as well, to bring forward what she has learnt after many years of studies and to create a showgroup formed from dancers who have in common a greate wish to study more and more this fantastic dance.

Ambra Bellydance offers practical and theoretical formation for everyone who has got the wish to know  better oriental dance, organizing courses for students of all levels, from amateur to agonist, letting to take part in very important competition in Italy and in other countries.

The association gives to its students many opportunities to grow artistically and offers exibitions and shows for all kind of events.

Kitija Purmale

Biography

Kitija Purmale is a professional dancer ,teacher and choreographer of classic oriental and flokloristic styles of bellydance.

She was born in 1983 in RIGA, where she has received her artistical and professional formation. She has got  bachelor degree in jurisprudence and she speaks four languages: russian, latvian, italian, english.

In the age of ten years  in Latvia she started her first steps in world of the dance as a folk and modern dancer (latvian, russian, ucrainian folk dances) and in the maintime she was also studying a classic dance. Soon she was taking a part in a showgroup and participating in different concerts in Latvia and abroad. In 2002 Kitija decides to change direction of dance studies and signs down in the school of IRINA LISOVSKAJA (one of the most famous teachers in Baltic states) in Riga. There she starts studies of oriental dance with 4hours intensity in a week. After two years of very intensive studies Kitija starts to take part in a showgroup named SEMIRAMIS created by IRINA LISOVSKAJA. In 2006 Kitija starts her experience also as solo dancer and together with the showgroup SEMIRAMIS performed during different festivals, concerts, shows and even embassies in Latvia. In the maintime she was taking part in different national and international contests of bellydance winning one of the awarding positions.

During her experience like a dancer and teacher, Kitija has participated in many stages with international masters of bellydance like Kalhed Mahmoud, Mohammed El Hosseny, Ashmahan, Elena Ramazanova, Mercedes Nieto,Natalia Fadda, Randa Kamel, Tito Seif, Lubna Emam, Camelia of Cairo, Aida of Russia, Semsemah, Magdy El Leisy, Kazafy Mohamed, Yousry Sharif, Amir Thaleb Sunny Singh (Bollywood) e many others. Kitija partecipated in many stages about improvvisation with percussionist Chronis Taxidis.

She started to teach in the year 2006 like asissistent of IRINA LISOVSKAJA during the courses and stages. After some time she started to keep her own lessons in Riga in a scool of IRINA LISOVSKAJA.

Since 2009 she lives in Bergamo in Italy. Her studies are continueing to the egyptian master Wael Monsour in Milan and she works in many places like for example  prestigious restaurant RIAD YACOUT in Milan. Kitija is a student of Chronis Taxidis also, great greek percussionist famous in all the world.

Since 2011 she started to train new students for to rise her new project up, the “AMBRA BELLYDANCE GROUP”.  A showgroup that partecipate to many show, like in Hesh Beshk oriental festival of Venice. About this festival, Kitija keept her own stage as a national teacher.

KITIJA is the Art Director of the ASD AMBRA BELLYDANCE and she teaches bellydance in some  dance-schools in the province of Bergamo and Lecco.
